Play in the classroom
Play will be used to facilitate all developmental domains. We will have free play in the classroom 50 minutes daily, not including recess. Play is one of the most effective ways for children to express themselves and learn all areas of the curriculum.
Play is universal and intrinsically motivated. It is naturally satisfying to children.Play promotes the learning of the whole child as w wide range of learning opportunities is inherent in any single play activity. All play activity holds potential for growth and learning. Play is the cornerstone of learning, the foundation from which children venture forth to investigate, test out, share and construct knowledge by building on their own ideas. -Browne & Gordon, 2004
